Over 100 years of innovation
1870
Founded in 1870, it established a relationship with us in 1922. The most up-to-date vehicle registration and vehicles-in-operation data.
1960
Founded in 1960 as IHS, it becomes IHS Markit in 2019. An automotive intelligence hub with forecasting and analysis capabilities.
1984
CARFAX was founded in 1984, providing vehicle history insights and a broader view of the marketplace to help consumers and businesses identify opportunities and minimize risk. CARFAX was later acquired by Polk in 1993.
1988
Founded in 1988, it is acquired by S&P Global Mobility in 2023 to build pricing incentives and payment capabilities.
2012
Founded in 2012 and acquired by IHS Markit in 2017, automotiveMastermind uses the power of predictive analytics to enable automotive retailers to connect with buyers and deliver an exceptional purchasing experience.
2026
S&P Global Mobility becomes a standalone public company, Mobility Global. All the capabilities of the brands that built it—Polk, Market Scan, automotiveMastermind, IHS Markit and Carfax—in a single trusted partner.
