Anoop Desai is Executive Director and Global Head of Consulting at Mobility Global (formerly S&P Global Mobility), where he leads the global automotive and mobility consulting practice. His teams work with automakers, suppliers, financial institutions and technology companies on electrification and the energy transition, software-defined and future vehicles, market entry, technology benchmarking, and risk and transaction advisory.

He helps clients understand where the industry is heading and decide what to do about it — helping a new company enter a market, measuring the carbon in a financial firm's portfolio, or testing whether a strategy will hold up in the years ahead.

The industry isn't moving the same way everywhere. Electrification is advancing quickly in some markets and slowly in others, competition is intensifying as new players and technologies arrive, and governments are using tariffs to protect their home industries. His view is clear: there is no one-size-fits-all strategy — the companies that come out ahead are the ones that treat each market on its own terms.
